1: What should this unconference discuss?

I've whittled down the seven suggested to five, with advertising and communities incorporated into business models and audience development. Now I'd like to invite you to add specific questions under those headings that we might address. I've started some off.

Please also add your name to the topic you think you would most want to discuss:

  1. Business models - Chair: Tim Hood
    • Can we live on advertising alone? (especially the problem niche sites have in attracting sufficient advertising revenue to pay for their content. The combined pressure of the Google Ads CPC model and falling CPM rates mean that the online advertising market is skewed in favour of more generic sites that are able to attract milions of page views a month.)
    • How do you sell services? B2B or B2C?
    • Syndication
  2. Audience development - Chair: Nick Booth
    • Building and sustaining online communities
  3. Funding - Chair: Rick Waghorn
    • best practice?
    • Experiences with alternative funding, capital investment etc.
    • How to fund a start-up with limited resources
  4. Legals
    • Intellectual Property Rights online, etc.
  5. Online news models - Laura Oliver, Journalism.co.uk

Note: attendees can move between groups whenever they wish.
